Weber moved to Australia in 2014 and founded Goldfield & Banks two years later after noticing that luxury Australian perfumery simply didn't exist. The brand name pays homage to Joseph Banks, the botanist who arrived with Captain Cook in the 18th century and encountered a flora unlike anything known to Europe. The fragrances are gender-free and built around rare native essences: blue cypress, boronia, wattleseed, finger lime, combined with the rigour of French perfumery craft, resulting in a collection that is distinctly, specifically Australian in a way that has resonated well beyond its home market.
