Romy Kowalewski founded 27 87 in Barcelona in 2016, naming the brand after her birth date — the 27th of 1987 — and extending that logic to the bottle sizes: 27ml and 87ml, both deliberate, both a departure from European industry norms. The brief was clear from the start: no occasion, no narrative, just fragrance built for the present moment. The four collections: Now, Go, Calm and Wild, are states of mind, not destinations. Kowalewski works with internationally respected perfumers including Mark Buxton, sources ingredients through local Barcelona craftsmen, and keeps the bottles minimal by design. Ten years in, the brand hasn't deviated from that position once.
