Dimitri Weber moved to Australia in 2014 and founded Goldfield & Banks two years later, after noticing that luxury Australian perfumery simply didn't exist. The name pays tribute to two things: Australia's gold rush heritage, and Joseph Banks, the botanist who arrived with Captain Cook in the 18th century and encountered a flora unlike anything known to Europe. The fragrances are gender-free and built around rare native essences: blue cypress, boronia, wattleseed, finger lime, combined with the rigour of French perfumery craft, resulting in a collection that is distinctly, specifically Australian in a way that has resonated well beyond its home market.
Australian perfume with a sense of place
Goldfield & Banks is a strong starting point for someone who wants a polished signature fragrance with a specifically Australian story. The native botanicals give you a way to connect with the composition, while the house's French perfumery approach brings structure and refinement. Silky Woods is one of our best-selling woody fragrances for women, and a useful introduction for anyone drawn to that side of the range. These are gender-free perfumes, chosen by taste rather than a label.
