Douglas Little was told at an industry lecture that natural perfumery was "the work of housewives and heretics." He called his lawyer and trademarked the name. That was 2016. Before Heretic, Little studied perfumery in Grasse, so the defiance was informed. Collaborations with Goop, Dita Von Teese have followed. The name still describes the mission exactly.
