William Francis Truefitt opened his first shop in 1805 as hairdresser to King George III, and the house has held Royal Warrants across nine consecutive reigns since. The Truefitt & Hill name came from the 1935 merger with Edwin Hill's barber shop. The fragrance range spans centuries of tradition: Spanish Leather, Sandalwood and West Indian Limes sit alongside newer additions 1805 and Trafalgar, named for the year the shop opened and the battle fought that same day.
