Luca Gritti

Born in 1968 into one of Venice's oldest noble families, direct descendants of Doge Andrea Gritti and the 16th-century merchant-diplomat Alvise Gritti, Luca Gritti is a trained chemist and self-taught perfumer who describes himself as 'the rebel of Italian niche perfumery.'

After years as a financial consultant and later running his family's cosmetic production business, he founded Gritti in 2010 as a fragrance house rooted in Venetian heritage and a fiercely independent spirit.

Working from his facility in Bologna, he oversees every element of production.

Bestsellers include 19-68, Decimo, and the Gritti Privé collection.
