Chris Bartlett

Chris Bartlett (1959–2024) was a British self-taught perfumer and the founder of Pell Wall Perfumes, based in Shropshire.

A lifelong interest in fragrance that began in his early teens ran parallel to a first career spanning IT, national security, and government relations, before he founded Pell Wall in 2010 to make fine fragrances and bespoke commissions.

Over time, Pell Wall evolved into a major raw ingredients supplier for the global amateur and indie perfumer community, becoming one of the most trusted resources in the artisan fragrance world.

His creative credits include several fragrances for Zoologist, among them Beaver and Elephant.

Pell Wall continues to trade as a limited company in his memory.
