Cristiano Canali

Italian-born Cristiano Canali came to perfumery by way of pharmacy, following his grandfather into medical studies before a trip to India to meet sandalwood producers ignited an obsession with aromatic plants.

He enrolled at ISIPCA in Versailles, then launched his career at IFF, working first in Amsterdam and then in Paris, before moving to Argeville in the south of France.

His style is driven by synergy and contrast, and a love of rich naturals: flowers, beeswax, oud, ambergris.

He has created Bee for Zoologist, a celebrated honey and beeswax composition of remarkable warmth and complexity, Romanza for Masque Milano, and fragrances for Mendittorosa, among others.
