Florian Gallo

Florian Gallo is a perfumer at dsm-firmenich, based in Paris.

Raised in Paris by Armenian-heritage parents whose spice-laden kitchen was an early sensory education, he trained at ISIPCA before joining Robertet, where he developed a deep attachment to natural materials and was posted to Buenos Aires for a year.

He joined Firmenich in 2019 as the first perfumer to head its Fine Fragrance Workshop in Shanghai, a stint that sharpened his instinct for cross-cultural olfactory translation.

His palette leans woody and smoky: vetiver, cedar, oud, and ambroxan, inflected by the kind of multicultural curiosity that comes from having lived and worked across four continents.
