Hamid Merati Kashani

Hamid Merati-Kashani is a Principal Perfumer at dsm-firmenich, based in Dubai.

Born in Germany to an Iranian father and German mother, he was raised in Isfahan until 1979 and describes himself as "Iranian in education, German in organisation."

He began his career at Dragoco in 1984, spending twelve years there before joining Firmenich in 1995, with postings across Cologne, Brazil, and Geneva before settling in the Middle East.

His signature is bold and opulent: generous doses of rose, oud, and rich orientals inflected by both Persian tradition and European precision.

His credits include Parfums de Marly, Initio Parfums Privés, Carolina Herrera, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Goldfield & Banks, and Fragrance Du Bois.

He also co-founded the personal project Fabbrica Della Musa with his wife Barbara.
