Josh Meyer is a self-taught American perfumer and founder of Imaginary Authors, a Portland, Oregon-based fragrance house he launched in 2012.

He came to perfumery after a discovery of niche fragrance ignited an obsession: spending thousands of hours alone in his basement lab before presenting his first collection, structured around fictional books by fictional authors.

His approach is literary, narrative, and anti-elitist: fragrances as layered stories, meant to provoke the imagination.

Notable works include Cape Heartache, Memoirs of a Trespasser, and Saint Julep.
