Wessel-Jan Kos

Wessel-Jan Kos is a Master Perfumer at dsm-firmenich, currently based in Geneva.

Born in the Netherlands in 1968, he studied chemistry in Amsterdam before training at ISIPCA in Versailles, where he met his future wife.

He joined Firmenich's training programme and was promoted to perfumer in 1996, after which his career became genuinely global: the US, Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, and over a decade in the UK, where he was active in the British Society of Perfumers as vice president and tutor.

He was elevated to Master Perfumer in 2022.

His specialisation spans consumer product categories including fabric care, personal care, and air care, with a strong focus on the Middle East, Africa, and India.

His work with Goldfield & Banks demonstrates his ability to weave distinctive Australian botanicals into classically structured, deeply beautiful fragrance.
