Was the forbidden fruit an apple or a fig? Villa Erbatium's answer is fig, and the whole scent is built around that call. Eden Garden opens on bitter orange and citron, sharp enough to make you squint, before fig leaf and petitgrain pull it into green, sappy shade. The base is woods and amber, dry and steady.

What makes it interesting is the bitterness. Most fig fragrances go milky and sweet. This one keeps the leaf, the rind and the stem, so it smells like the whole tree instead of the fruit in a bowl.

Was the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden an apple or a fig? In my imagination as a Catholic, the forbidden fruit was a fig.
Inspired by this, I have recreated the scent of the Garden of Eden.
The refreshing bitterness of orange, the deep aroma of fig fruit and leaves, and the scent of healthy grass and earth blend together to create the feeling of being in the Garden of Eden.
