Julie Massé

Julie Massé is a perfumer at Mane, based in France, and the nose behind the Shay & Blue fragrance library.

Born in Tokyo to a French family with Grasse roots, she grew up surrounded by raw materials and blotters her father brought home from the fragrance industry.

She studied chemistry and perfumery at ISIPCA before beginning her career in quality control at Fragrance Resources, where she trained under Pierre Bourdon and learned his approach to narrative perfumery.

She later joined Mane, working alongside Christine Nagel and Cécile Matton on fragrances for Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent.

Her credits span Armani Si, Courrèges, Lalique, Molton Brown, and the full Shay & Blue catalogue.
