Every citrus fruit you know is a hybrid. Mandarin met pomelo somewhere back in agricultural history, cedar crossed with lemon, and centuries of quiet cross-pollination gave us everything from bergamot to yuzu. Philippe Di Méo spent time with that history, the actual phylogeny of citrus, before building Imaginarium: nine fragrances that treat hybridization itself as the story, not just the raw material.
Di Méo didn't build this alone. Imaginarium is a collaboration with young perfumers from the Givaudan Fragrance School, working with over 30 of Givaudan's Orpur essential oils and a run of upcycled citrus materials, oils reclaimed as byproducts rather than freshly extracted. The result splits into three houses, each one a different argument about what citrus can be.
Mandarin House takes the spicy and aromatic route, mandarin pushed into saffron, pepper, suede.
Cedrat Club goes fresh and gourmand, citron and yuzu softened into milk, tonka, vanilla.
Green Terrace stays green and woody, citrus grounded rather than lifted.
