DESCRIPTION
Over millions of years, persistent rainwater gnaws at porous limestone, carving deep karsts beneath the earth. Sediment accumulates drop by drop, forming stalagmites and stalactites that patiently reach toward one another in total darkness. In these lightless caverns, a family of olms aquatic salamanders wandered in long ago and never returned. Generations without sunlight stripped them of colour and sight; pale and blind, they wait motionless for subterranean rivers to deliver sustenance.
